PFA SHEET

PFA sheet(Perfluoroalkoxy), is a melt-processable fluoropolymer that combines many of the best properties of PTFE and FEP. PFA is a chemically modified form of PTFE resin that combines many of the benefits of the PTFE. PFA plate offers both melt processing and the same upper continuous temperature as PTFE, i.e. 500°F (260°C).

		Main properties of PFA sheet

? Higher thermal stability than FEP

		? Working temperature of up to 500o F (260oC)

		? Lower permeability than FEP

? Combines attributes of PTFE and FEP

		? Translucent

? Maintains mechanical strength at high temperatures

? Moisture absorption close to zero

PFA properties are similar to FEP in terms of its mechanical properties. These two are both superior To PTFE with regards to their flexibility, making them useful for tubing applications. However, their ability To endure repetitive folding (flex life) is actually lower than PTFEs own. PFA Plastic has a higher flex life Than FEP. PFA polymer is preferable to FEP where heat is concerned, but PTFE itself is slightly more Resistant to heat than both. PFA is more affected by water absorption and weathering than FEP, but is Superior in terms of salt spray resistance.
